Problem Statement

SKHS School are facing problems to provide students’ basic need to running their school. One of the main problem is they do not have enough money to provide free lunch at school. Therefore, the students usually get hungry during in class and this is effect to students’ health and education problems. To solve this problem, we are going to provide meal for that school that to promote the students learning and healthiness.
120 students between the ages of 4 to 13 years are attending the school from Monday to Friday every day. They have limited meal for per day. According to headmistress, some students attend school without extra rice. The reason are most of the students’ parent poverty and busy with jobs. Therefore, students could not bring lunch to school. Some parents are busy with their jobs and some parents don’t have enough money to buy food. Therefore, they can’t prepare lunch for their children to bring at school. They just give money to buy some snacks. Furthermore, some student lives with their relative such as sister family, Uncle Family and Aunt Family. According to nursery teacher, 30% of students can’t bring food so, teacher has to share from other students’ food for them. Sometimes, teacher has to feed their food to the students. On the other hand, teacher can’t share for every day because the students are not only one.
Their current donor Help Without Frontiers (HWF) is focusing on provide them transportation, water bill, stationary materials and electric bill. Even though, they still facing problem because the funding that they receive from Help Without Frontiers (HWF) does not cover for those problems that SKHS has been facing. Nevertheless, their donors do not support them for meal. While some students eat lunch at school who do not bring meal at school, they have to stay outside. Otherwise, some students steal other students’ food and pick out from the rubbish because they are very hungry. Consequently, their teacher get them punishment so that, they are getting shy from their friends. One more thing, if they do not eat any food, while teaching the students are not interesting and can’t concentrate the lessons. Then, the students pick up food from rubbish which is affect to get worm and diarrhea. After they get this disease, they have to miss class until getting better. Therefore, they can’t follow the lessons and can’t take exam. As a result, they fail the exam and they don’t want continue the school and don’t want to learn anymore.
Therefore, we propose to provide meal lunch for students that to study comfortable and to promote their physical, mental development and improve knowledge skills. So that, the students will activities to do on their learning during Monday to Friday without hungry. This school already have experience that feed lunch at school so that, they can manage well. We hope that by providing meal for the students, there will be less steal extra rice, begging food, pick up food rubbish and get nutrition. Moreover, most students will interested and happy to attend the school so that, the students will attend the school to get high raise percentage than before.
